What a fruitful trip! Back from Batam late at night. It was a tiring day. Woke up early in the morning to go there. Well. The trip is better then I expected it.The food was super delicious. They treated us to seafood, a lot...hehex..& ate on floating restaurant beside the sea.
The favourite part was when we visited the Ex Camp for refugees at Gallang Island. It was the place that many Vietnamese took refuge on their way to the US. It's still there, after like 30 years. Many things, buildings, church, hospitals are left behind. I could even read the Vietnam words engraved on the building. Also discovered that my 1st uncle once was there, too. On his way to the US and now he's living happily at US. I felt like calling him immediately =). May be ask him to go visit that place again..
So did many meaningful things today, and obviously, as a girl, couldn't forget shopping. Everything is just so cheap & nice there. I went to a shop & just toke whatever clothes that I find nice..hehex... Yeah! The donut is SUPERB!!! 1st time praising donut, as I don't like the sweet donuts in S'pore. It's less sugar there, more tasty & healthy...
Mom intended to stay overnight but I got tons of homework to finish so must come back today.. Shall go there again SOON... :D ...& I bought kebaya for Hari Raya
& I felt blessed...
